Sailing Competition Success

​On 30th June, Ella and Carola competed in the annual 12 hour Southport Junior Sailing Regatta for the Midland Sailing Club team. The race started at 8:00 in the morning, and the sailors (two at a time in the boat) swapped every couple of hours until the race finished at 20:00.

​On the 28th April, our Key Stage 4 badminton team set off to the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes, to compete in the National Schools finals. KEHS has never made the national finals, so this was a very special day for us.

Squash Success!

Last weekend, sisters Anya (U4S) and Meha (3S) qualified to play in the English Junior Squash championships in Hull. Thirty two of the top girls across the country played in each age category with matches commencing from Friday morning and final positions being played on Sunday afternoon.

Swimming Success!

Congratulations to our swimming squad, Imogen, Ruby, Abigail and Audrey, who competed at the Bromsgrove School Invitational Swimming Relays on Monday 26th February. The girls did extremely well, finishing third in the freestyle relay and second in the medley relay out of 19 teams across the region.​

Fencing Success

Congratulations to Hannah and Noor, in the Thirds, and Melissa in the Lower Fourth for competing in the annual King Edward’s School Fencing Competition. Melissa did extremely well, finishing third overall in the Under 14 competition and Noor, who has only been fencing for a few months, won her pool.​

Sana Wins Gold

​On Sunday 21st January, Sana in 3H, competed in the Under 13 Badminton England Bronze Tournament held at Hertfordshire County. Sana did extremely well, winning all gold medals in the Girls’ Singles, Girls’ Doubles and Mixed Doubles matches!​

School Games Success

Congratulations to our Key Stage 3 badminton team who recently won the Birmingham School Games tournament! They did extremely well, winning all of their matches against the University of Birmingham School, Bishop Challoner and Camp Hill. They now progress to the next round of the competition in February.

Congratulations to Aditi in the Lower Fourth for her string of successes in a number of Badminton England Tournaments! Aditi, who recently won the Gold Medal in the Girls’ Singles Under 15 Tournament, is now ranked 11th in the Under 15 England Rankings and 148th for all ages and adults combined in the England rankings.

Ultimate Frisbee

​On Sunday 12th November, two KEHS teams competed in the UK Ultimate Juniors and Schools Women's Indoor Nationals in Wolverhampton. After a gruelling six-match day, during which the teams faced numerous current GB players, the Under 14 team placed 5th and the Under 17 team placed 8th.

Students from Girls Schools' Association member schools across the country gathered in Wimbledon for an inspiring day of elite sport, focusing on what it takes to be a high performing athlete in today’s world.

​This week 10 Upper 4th girls who will be completing their Sports Leaders award next year went to Loughborough University to the ’Girls Lead the Field’ event. The event was organised by the Youth Sports Trust and supported by Loughborough University and the GSA.
