Choral and Orchestral Concerts

On the afternoon of Sunday 8th March, the first Choral and Orchestral concert took place in the Ruddock Hall. Choral Society performed a stunning rendition of Vivaldi's Gloria with outstanding solos from Naina, Alisha, Scarlett and Sanjana. Many years ago, these solo parts would have been performed by professionals, so it is particularly impressive that we have soloists at KEHS who are able to take on these roles, and perform to such a high standard. Thanks and congratulations must also go to the orchestra who accompanied Choral Society fantastically, ably led by Samantha. Special mention should also go to Rhea for her beautiful solo oboe playing. Following the interval, Symphony Orchestra performed Brahms' Symphony no. 3. Renee led with power and conviction, steering the orchestra to create an excellent performance.

On the evening of Monday 9th March, we hosted the second of our concerts celebrating the 60th anniversary of the schools' Symphony Orchestra. It was fitting that Lauren should be our soloist in this celebratory concert. Lauren performed Beethoven's 'Emperor' Concerto to a packed house. Her astonishing talent, vitality and sheer artistry were just mesmerising. Unsurprisingly, Lauren's performance received a standing ovation from a very appreciative audience. Much to their delight, Lauren then had the energy to give an encore. A massive congratulations to the orchestra who supported Lauren admirably throughout the concerto, and who then re-performed the Brahms symphony after the interval. Well done everyone for such outstanding concerts.
