Physics Explorer Dome

On Thursday 27th June, the Physics Explorer Dome came to KEHS. Upper Fourth students experienced a series of captivating images projected onto the inside of the dome, and learned about the Big Bang, stars, our Solar System and how to find different stars in the night sky. An image of the night sky was projected onto the dome, which slowly spun around as students tried to find different stars and constellations. Students also considered why extraterrestrial life may exist, or have existed, on different planets, as well as the scale of celestial objects in our Solar System. Some interesting facts were learned including: the Sun is actually quite a small star compared to others in the Universe, and there was once a flood of water on Mars. The experience was incredibly rewarding, and all the Upper Fourth enjoyed the marvellous images and interesting facts, which they learned about the Universe.
