Outreach: Physics Roadshow

On Monday 11th February, we hosted 70 primary school pupils from across Birmingham for our Physics Roadshow. This informative and engaging session was led by our sixth formers who demonstrated a variety of impressive scientific experiments and explained some of the processes behind them. Pupils saw the effects of liquid nitrogen on different materials, learned how to start a fire tornado as well as learning why a plasma ball works as a conductor of electricity. The pupils particularly enjoyed getting involved in all the practical demonstrations especially those using smoke canons and bubbles. Thank you to Ms Platt and the sixth form physicists who led the session: Naomi, Tabassum, Arushi, Mina, Rachel, Molly and Lauren.
