Lunchtime Recital

Last week's lunchtime recital featured violinist Samantha and flautist Saffron, alongside pupils from KES. Samantha opened the recital with an expressive performance of Bloch's Simchas Torah (Rejoicing) from Baal Shem, before treating the audience to the more light-hearted La Capricieuse by Edward Elgar, demonstrating impressive up bow staccato. Saffron began her performance with the energetic second movement of C.P.E.Bach's Sonata in A minor; his only unaccompanied sonata for flute. She was then joined by Ms Sanders on piano for Hamilton Harty's In Ireland, Fantasy for Flute and Piano. She wowed the audience with her versatility across all registers of the instrument and jaunty rendition of this folk music inspired work. Congratulations to all of the musicians from both schools.
