Harry Potter Book Night 2018

Thursday evening, Harry Potter Book Night, celebrated at KEHS for the second year, was once again enthusiastically supported by girls throughout the school. This year’s theme was ‘Fantastic Beasts’. The week leading up to the event had seen girls from every year group coming into the Library to be sorted into their Hogwarts House by the Sorting Hat. This followed the Treasure Hunt laid around the school where girls were able to take on many challenges and activities, from crafting Dragons, hunting for Nifflers to colouring in pictures of Diagon Alley! The main event, the Super Fan Quiz, had the Junior Library filled to capacity with contestants from every year group taking part in five gruelling rounds of Harry Potter trivia. This year there were also two picture rounds; including one where students had to match up fantastical beasts with their respective incredible looking eggs! Aimee was the first runner up winning a Phoenix necklace, next was Isabel who won a MACUSA keyring, then the joint team of Lauren and Priya shared a Newt Scamander keyring. In fourth place was Simran who was awarded a Fantastic Beast suitcase toy, in third place came Catherine who won a magic spells notebook and wand and second place was awarded to Noor who went home with a Hogwarts wax seal letter set. Finally, first place went to Alice who gained an impressive 30 points which meant she won the main prize of the new illustrated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! A truly magical time was had by all!
