Question Time

On Friday 1st December, members of the Sixth Form had the opportunity to take part in Question Time, in which we asked members of the Labour, Green, Conservative and Liberal parties their opinions on issues important to us. Forms submitted questions beforehand, although we were welcome to ask anything that popped into our minds as the debate progressed. It was interesting to see how different the party members’ answers were, or in some cases, just how similar. Many topical and controversial issues were raised, including arms dealing with Saudi Arabia and HS2. One particularly interesting point, was the issue of whether Britain should abolish the monarchy. The British general public is 68% in favour of keeping the monarchy, yet not one student spoke in favour of this and only the Conservative party member spoke against abolishing them. Thank you on behalf of the Sixth Form to Mr Jarvis for organising our Question Time debate.
