Birmingham Schools Debating Competition

On Saturday 4th November, three KEHS teams competed in the Birmingham University Debating Competition. Nikita and Maha achieved some early success winning the first round. All of the teams debated a variety of political, economic and cultural issues. The novice teams improved throughout the day in their first ever debating competition. Well done to Nikita, Maha, Kiran, Anya, Nimhara and Anushna.

There are several remaining competitive debating opportunities this year including the Historical Association Great Debate, the English Speaking Union Public Speaking Competition, the English Speaking Union Schools Mace and the Oxford Schools Debating Competition. Pupils should see Mrs Hargraves for any additional details on these events.
