Team Maths Challenge
On Friday 27th March, the KEHS team – Asiya Siddiqua (U4A), Katusha Jin (U4C), Rosemary Walmsley (L4A), Sruti Banerjee (L4A) – went to Wolverhampton to compete in the Regional Final of the Team Maths Challenge against 27 other schools.
There are four rounds in the challenge – a Group Round, where pupils work together on ten mathematical puzzles, the Cross-Number, which is like a crossword but mathematical, the Head to Head, where teams are racing against the clock and against each other to finish the problems, and the Relay, where the teams are running back and forth with questions and answers.
Our team were mentioned as one of the top-scoring teams in each of the four rounds, and their efforts were repaid by winning the overall competition.
They will be going on to the National Final in London on 22nd June. Well done to all four girls.
This follows on from the Senior Maths Challenge Team’s similar success in their Regional Final earlier this year.
