The trip to Borneo went very well with all the girls having an exceptiional time. This culminated in a visit to Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctury.

During the summer a World Challenge Expedition took place to Tanzania and Kenya. The girls embarked on a 4 week programme: acclimatisation, project, main trek and R & R.

As part of the school’s exciting outdoor education programme an intrepid group of 30 Year 8 students set off for their expedition to the Mendip Hills for a caving and abseiling adventure.

This was a new venture; the first time that KEHS had offered its Year 10 GCSE students the opportunity to study the language intensively whilst living with a local family.

The upper 4th visited Bristol Zoo in October. These pictures are a reminder of just how good the visit turned out to be. The visit included a talk about the conservation of the rainforest and how recycling your old mobile phones could help. For more information go to:

On the 19th September, the U4th went to Carding Mill Valley in Shropshire. There are many mini waterfalls and meanders in the region. The location also consists of cobbles and rough jagged rocks.
The students were given seven different tasks to do including: finding the load of a river, how fast the current of the river was and drawing a cross section of the river. The weather wasn’t very kind to us and it rained all over our results making them difficult to read!

On Friday 8th December a Christmas Party was held at the school for local senior citizens. They were entertained by the girls and given tea.

A charity jazz evening was held on 6th March in aid of the PTA. The evening's entertainment comprised of a jazz band from KEHS and KES, a choir called Chorus and a guest apperance by Ralph Allin.

During the Easter holidays, over 20 L4th girls went on a residential trip to Llangattock, Wales for 5 days. This trip was a rewarding, exciting learning experience, promoting leadership, teamwork and problem solving skills. The course also encouraged the girls to develop good communication with other members of the group, and a level of environmental awareness.

The L4 girls are currently studying the Jewish Faith in their Religious Studies lessons and a visit was organised to the Central Synagogue, Pershore Road on Monday 6th November 2006.

The Parents Association organised a Quiz Night on Friday 10th November 2006. The evening was designed to be light-hearted and fun so participants forgot the ‘Weakest Link’, ‘University Challenge’ and even ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ to pit their skills against each other and as the pictures show everyone had a great night.

On 14th December, after the annual school carol service and a very long term, Miss Rankin and Mrs. Birchall set off with 13 members of the upper sixth to Rome. We arrived at Fiumicino airport at 11pm, wanting nothing more than to find our coach driver and go to sleep at the hotel. However, Miss Rankin’s bag had gone missing at the airport and half an hour was spent locating it, by which time the coach driver had disappeared. Fortunately, we did eventually find him and the hotel.

This year’s senior production was the greatest - and most violent - love story ever told and it exploded onto the KES stage from 30th January until the 2nd February 2008. The pictures are a snapshot of an outstanding production.

The joint senior production The Hired Man took place in KES. So what was it all about. This is a 'torrid tale of ornary poor folk up north' which included a bit of gritty realism, farm labourers, miners, love, adultery, 1st world war, cancer, music and whippet racing and not a dry eye in the house!
