Trips & Educational Visits

Girls at KEHS benefit from an astounding array of trips and visits.Trips give our pupils unique opportunities to develop their resourcefulness and initiative, and to spend time together in a more relaxed environment. They enhance different subjects within the curriculum. Each trip is different. Some are directly related to the curriculum; some are designed to boost social awareness or enhance physical skills, self-reliance and team-working. Others extend girls’ knowledge of the world. All add crucial breadth to their development and education. Trips at KEHS include visits to historic sites, museums, galleries, natural features, government settings, places of worship and lectures. In addition to the great variety of trips and visits organised by departments, there are numerous residential trips on offer each year.

Recent subject-linked trips have taken place in Iceland, Poland, Madrid, New York, Florida and Paris, while our sports tours provide our keen and talented games-players with life-changing experiences in countries including Barbados, Mexico, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Fiji. We also offer ski trips, and our Outdoor Pursuits Co-ordinator organises regular weekend activities for pupils, such as cycling and hill walking.

Our Thirds (Year 7s) enjoy a three-day residential trip to Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire; the Lower Fourths (Year 8) go to Snowdonia and the Upper Fourths (Year 9) to the Cotswolds. Girls from the Upper Fourths and above have the opportunity to take part in language and cultural exchanges, staying with host families, whose children make reciprocal visits, living with KEHS families.
