KEHS offers Academic Scholarships to the most able girls at 11+ and 16+ at the discretion of the Principal.

Scholarships are not available to girls joining the school during Year 8 or Year 9.

11+ Scholarships

These are awarded simply on academic merit without any consideration of the financial situation of the candidate’s family.

Please note, consideration for an academic scholarship is automatic during the entry process and no separate application is required. There is no separate scholarship exam.

Available to girls who achieve very highly in our entrance examination, and who are also Grade 6 or above in their musical instrument, and they are awarded following auditions. Parents who are registering their daughter for the entrance exam online will be given the option to apply for a Music Scholarship.

16+ Scholarships

These are awarded simply on academic merit without any consideration of the financial situation of the candidate’s family.

Please note, consideration for an academic scholarship is automatic during the entry process and no separate application is required. There is no separate scholarship exam.

In Sport, we recognise that any student who is on a pathway to international representation is already motivated, determined and has had to face adversity. We value these character traits highly and would welcome an application for a Sixth Form Sports Scholarship from girls who are on a National Governing Body (NGB) Development Pathway. Applicants interested in applying for a Sports Scholarship should write to the Director of Admissions, outlining their sporting achievements and detailing how they balance the demands of their training and competing with their academic studies.

Available to students who have surpassed grade 8 and who are showing a significant commitment to furthering their musical education, for example by involvement in the National Youth Orchestra or National Youth Choir. The level of playing should be that which might be considered as gaining a place at a post-18 Music Conservatoire in due course, regardless of whether or not that pathway is intended.

Please note Sport and Music Scholarship amounts usually represent a fees reduction in the region of 5-10 per cent but are prestigious, particularly in the context of a highly achieving student body.
