Cambridge Greek Play

​On Thursday, 20 girls who study Greek and Classical Civilisation headed off to Cambridge. We started in the Cast Gallery of the Classics Faculty which contains copies of many of the most notable works of Classical sculpture.

Better Looking, Better Living, Better Loving

​On the evening of Tuesday 11th October, a group of 6th formers visited the University of Birmingham for a lecture about how chemistry is integrated into every aspect of our lives. It was a very thought provoking lecture delivered by Dr John Emsley from the University of Cambridge.

News from the Music Department!

On Monday 10th October the Music Department held the first Piano Evening of the year. Two girls from KEHS performed on the Ruddock Hall stage to a friendly audience. Thank you to Ayesha and Bronagh for performing, particularly Bronagh, who still performed despite being on crutches!

Lower 4th Geography Trip to Cardingmill Valley

​On Tuesday and Wednesday, Lower 4th geographers visited Cardingmill Valley in Shropshire. Part of the National Trust, Cardingmill Valley is a great place to see the topics that we’ve been learning about come to life.

Head Chorister at St Philip's Cathedral

​Eden in the Upper 6th has recently been named as the Head Chorister at St Philip's Cathedral for 2016. Eden has been in the choir since she was eight and was the Saddlers Chorister in 2014. Eden attends rehearsals and services three times a week and sings with Schola Philippi, the Cathedral’s élite student choir.

Latin and Greek Trip to Cambridge University

​ On Thursday the girls in the Lower 6th who study Latin and Greek headed to Cambridge for a day of lectures at the Classics Faculty. They furthered their understanding of their set texts and widened their knowledge of the Classical World.

The first Geography field trip of the year saw the Upper 4th heading to the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, where they undertook work to complement two of their topics for the year, Tourism and Natural Hazards.

Sport Achievements

​Seven girls took part in Wednesday’s cross country running regional heats at Shenley Academy. Tess won her race in the Y8-9 category and Izabella won the Y10- 11 category. Four of the girls qualified for the next round where they will represent South Birmingham.
