Competition Success for Emilia!

​Emilia recently entered a Global Sustainable Development essay competition run by the University of Warwick. Amid stiff national competition, Emilia was chosen as runner up for her essay evaluating the potential of the new 5p charge for plastic carrier bags to contribute to a sustainable future.

Thirds Chepstow Castle Visit

On Monday 13th June the Thirds visited Chepstow Castle in Wales as part of their study of the Norman Conquest. Set on an idyllic bend of the River Wyre, the castle is no less imposing today as it must have been in medieval times and commands the town and its surroundings.

Thirds Space Centre Visit

On 14th and 15th June, the Thirds visited the Space Centre to undertake a Mission to Mars! Time travel took us to the year 2076 when Mars will have a science station on its surface. The intrepid astronauts were either on Mars or travelling there to start their two year assignment.

Lower Sixth Trip to Hamlet at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre

The recent Lower Sixth English trip, to Stratford-upon-Avon to see Hamlet, proved to be an enthralling experience for all. Students and staff witnessed a vibrant African interpretation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece, with Hamlet wearing a bright painted jacket, with an Alexander McQueen-esque skull motif.
