Dr Iain Law visits the RS Department

This week, Dr Iain Law, Undergraduate Admissions tutor for Philosophy at the University of Birmingham visited KEHS at the invitation of Mrs Young and met with girls studying RS to answer questions and offer advice to those considering reading Philosophy/PPE and related subjects at university.

Upper 4th Geography Trip to the Peak District

​The weather was kind for the Geography department's first field course of the year. The Upper 4th visited the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, where they undertook work to complement two of their topics for the year, Tourism and Natural Hazards.

Theatre Trip to the REP

​On Thursday 17th September fifty KEHS & KES Drama students descended on the REP for the first in the school’s programme of theatre trips. The girls and boys saw the topical and engaging production of Charles III which examined the relationship between the monarchy and the government.

Upper 5th Trip to Parliament

​On Monday 7th September the PDM Department and the whole of the Upper 5th made their way to London to visit the Houses of Parliament. They spent time in the new state of the art Education Centre and were even able to sit in a virtual House of Commons.

Old Edwardians’ Diamond Reunion

On Tuesday 15th September, we welcomed the classes of 1965 and 1955 back to KEHS for a special reunion. The ‘Old Eds’ took a trip down memory lane, visiting lessons throughout the day and meeting current students.

Mrs Azmat Publishes New Book

Mrs Azmat has a recently co-authored a new book entitled ‘Basic Accounting’. The book gives a clear and concise explanation of accounting principles and practice; it is perfect for the newcomer, or anybody needing to brush up on their accounting skills. Copies are available in the school library.

KEHS Girls begin working with Professional Film Director

​The first Friday of term saw our U4th girls learning the skills of filmmaking as part of their Creative Living course. Over the coming weeks, the girls will develop their ideas for a short film, producing scripts, storyboards and shot lists.

Junior fencing international, Shreya, wins Bronze at Junior Commonwealth Games

​Congratulations to Shreya Anil in the Upper 6th who, during the summer holidays, was selected to represent the England Under 17 Sabre team to compete in the Cadet Fencing Commonwealth Games held in Cape Town! Shreya performed magnificently at the games, eventually winning the individual bronze medal.
