Instrumental Evening

​On Monday 2nd October, our season of instrumental evenings began with a piano instrumental evening in the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre. Rhea, Renee and Lauren performed as part of an oboe quintet, which concluded the concert with a performance of Theodore Dubois' Quintette. Well done to all involved!​

Girls Go Gold Conference

On Thursday, eight of our Upper Fifth and Lower Sixth girls attended the Girls Go Gold Conference. Students from Girls Schools' Association member schools across the country gathered in Wimbledon for an inspiring day of elite sport, focusing on what it takes to be a high performing athlete in today’s world.

Art Trip to Compton Verney

On 29th September, students from the Thirds visited Compton Verney with the Art department. The trip provided an opportunity to discuss paintings and sculptures with experts and involved a variety of activities linked to the current exhibition featuring optical art from George Suerat to Briget Riley.

Trip to Coventry Cathedral

​On October 3rd, Upper Fourth students visited Coventry Cathedral. The purpose of the trip was to learn about the Cathedral’s work in relation to reconciliation. Coventry Cathedral is one of the world’s oldest centres for reconciliation.

Staff Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 29th September, KEHS staff and students took part in the world’s biggest coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The staff were spoilt for choice with an assortment of cakes, cookies, shortbread, flapjacks and brownies. Over £280 was raised and all proceeds will be going to Macmillan Cancer Support

On Saturday 30th September, 44 Upper Sixth students had the opportunity to be interviewed in preparation for courses at Oxford, Cambridge and Medicine. The students experienced rigorous and challenging questions, which required a high level of lateral thinking.

​In this week’s assembly, the winner of this year’s KEHS Poet Laureate competition was announced as Shivanii. Poems were entered on the theme of ‘Friendship’ and as always the standard was very high.

London Shine Walk

On Saturday 23rd September, Rohita from U4H, Shreya from L4H and Aditi from U4K took part in The London Shine Walk, a marathon night walk in support of Cancer Research. The girls, who started the half marathon at 8:00pm and finished at 12:45am, raised a total of £325 in aid of the event.

Last week, the Upper Fifth attended their first careers talks of the Autumn term. Each girl chose to listen to one of three talks by visiting speakers. Julian Harris of GVA came to speak to girls about the property lifecycle, the range of roles available and how underrepresented women currently are in the industry.
