Lower Fifth Visit to Caerleon Roman Baths

​On Tuesday 12th September, KEHS students went on a trip to the Caerleon Roman Fortress and Baths. Located in South-East Wales, the Roman Baths Museum is home to the most complete Roman amphitheatre in Britain and the last remaining Roman legionary barracks anywhere in Europe.

On Wednesday 13th September, staff at KEHS took part in the national ‘Cycle to Work Day’. This annual event, which began in 2013, encourages adults across the UK to get on their bike and join the nation’s biggest one-day celebration of cycle commuting.

Sneha's Charity Skydive

During the summer break, Sneha took part in a charity skydive in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research. The skydive, which took place at Old Sarum in Salisbury, saw Sneha plummet from a height of 15,000 feet—the highest point to jump from in the UK —followed by a free fall distance of 10,000 feet.

Silver Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

​With GCSE results looming, 27 Upper Fifth girls headed to Shropshire for three days to complete their Silver Duke of Edinburgh qualifying expeditions. Two groups coped very well with thick fog on top of the Long Mynd and demonstrated their proficiency at navigating without being able to see where they were going.

GCSE Results

King Edward VI High School for Girls is celebrating yet another set of outstanding GCSE results; girls achieved 82% A* grades and 97% A*/A, outperforming last year’s record results, which had in turn broken the previous year’s record results.

IMOK Olympiad 2017

Well done to the six girls who qualified for the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad and Kangaroo this year. Simren, Naomi, Ami, Jiali, Kirsten and Jessica all performed extremely well, with Ami and Jiali both receiving merits and Naomi receiving a distinction.
