Girls Lead the Field Event

This week 10 Upper 4th girls who will be completing their Sports Leaders award next year went to Loughborough University to the ’Girls Lead the Field’ event. The event was organised by the Youth Sports Trust and supported by Loughborough University and the GSA. The focus of the day was learning life and leadership skills through sport. The girls worked with inspirational athletes who have all competed on the world stage. Guin Batten, a British Olympic Silver Medallist, spoke about her recent venture rowing with four other women from New York to Falmouth across the Atlantic - going against the Gulf Stream! The girls gained a great deal from the day and will now be involved in organising and developing our whole school Sports Day with the support of the PE department.
