Barber Institute Lunchtime Recital

On Friday 10th November, our annual lunchtime recital took place at the Barber Concert Hall as part of their Lunchtime Concert series. The recital opened with an accomplished and moving performance of the Allegretto from Shostakovich’s String Quartet No.6, Op. 101, performed by the Corelli Quartet (Beth, Melissa, Melissa and Isabel). Daniel then treated the audience to an impressive performance of the Gigue from Bach’s Partita No. 2, before being joined by Peter Bridle (piano) for Tchaikovsky’s Mélodie and the thrilling Ronde des Lutins by Bazzini. The recital culminated in a stirring rendition of the 1st movement (Allegro ma non troppo) of Dvořák’s Piano Quintet in A, Op. 5, performed by Philip, Gabriel, Rosy, Eugene, and Naomi. Congratulations and thanks to all pupils and staff who produced such a wonderful recital.
