KEHS prides itself on the outstanding Pastoral Care it provides and for which it is renowned. Pastoral care infuses every aspect of school life and is not a separate entity in any way.

"The quality of pastoral care, and of the school’s arrangements for the care and guidance of all its pupils, is excellent. It is comprehensive, sensitive and wholly effective. Pupils value this support and they significantly extend it by the quality of their care for each other."
    - ISI Inspection Report 2010

KEHS is still attached to its original names for year groups, but it doesn't take long to get used to them.

Girls are allocated one of four forms on entering the school: K, E, H or S and remain in this form group for the first five years.  Each form has a Form Teacher who remains with them for one year, except in the Fifth and Sixth forms, where the Form Teacher remains with the girls for two years to give extra support around GCSE and A levels. Form teachers provide the main formal contact for girls and parents, but we encourage girls to talk with whomever they feel most confident. Each form from Thirds to Upper Fourth also has two Sixth Form prefects who work closely with the girls in form time and can act as advisers and mentors.
